Christopherson Builders, Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo & Cutting Edge Painting Help Transform Roseland Collegiate Prep School with Donations Six Months After the Fire

Taking some purple out of Roseland

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Santa Rosa, CA, April 9, 2018 – Roseland Collegiate Prep School was located at the former Ursuline High School campus next to Cardinal Newman High School until the school burnt to the ground as a result of the wildfires that swept through Sonoma County on Oct. 9, 2017. The 430 students enrolled in Roseland Collegiate Prep School have since found a new location and are settled into this campus across town which formerly housed another school. The new school, located in a warehouse, has recently been painted thanks to community donations and is holding a school-wide, community-wide celebration assembly on April 17, 2018 at 12:00 pm. at the campus: 100 Sebastopol Road in Santa Rosa.

Roseland Collegiate Prep School went from completely purple paint (yes, totally purple, chosen as a neutral color, inside and out, for the previous school due to its location situated in the middle of gang territories) to being freshly painted in their school colors, blue and green.

When non-profit Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo (RTR4C) reached out to those in need after the devastating Sonoma County Fires, Roseland Collegiate Prep School accepted their offer. RTR4C realized the project was bigger than their volunteers could handle and reached out to Christopherson Builders, a local builder and developer, helping to rebuild the community after wildfires, who agreed to help to transform the school.

“The new school has been in dire need of fresh paint and we are looking forward to utilizing community involvement and volunteers to make the school a welcoming campus, reflective of the goals and values for these hardworking students,” said Nancy Ballard Founder and Executive Director of RTR4C.

“We believe it will be uplifting for the students and staff to have fresh paint in their own school colors,” remarked Christopherson Builders President, Brenda Christopherson. “These kids have been through a lot this year and this is something we can do to help out and make them feel at home again at their new school campus.”

Christopherson Builders and Cutting Edge Painting have completed the transformation of the 8,000 square-foot school giving it a complete paint overhaul inside and out.

Sonoma County painting contractor, Jason Woodruff, owner of Cutting Edge Painting donated his painting expertise and time to the project. “I’m excited to do something for these great kids who lost their school in the fires,” said Woodruff. “I am grateful I am able to help the community.”

Roseland Collegiate Prep School Board Member stated, “Our very first class will be graduating in May, this will mean the world to them!”
